This album combines Alternative Metal with Rap-Rock. Linkin Park is mostly known for it's Rap-Rock combination if you hear the album you will realize how brilliantly their Rap lyrics flows with heavy guitars. Mike Shinoda also the pioneer of Linkin Park is all over the place in this album. But according to me some of the songs can be ignored.
"Meteora" in 2003 the whole album is an excellent piece of work. Every detail has been given alot of attention on this album. Every song in "Meteora" has to be your favourite. While you are listening to the album you realize that as they'll go further they will get better than this but that really wasn't the case. No doubt it was by far the best album they ever made. I am not saying they are One hit wonders but their is something missing in Linkin Park's later albums. For me "Meteora" is a giant and no other Linkin Park's album can be compared to it.
In 2004, Jay-Z and the band worked together to produce a remix album called "Collision Course".The album, which featured intermixed lyrics and background tracks from both artists previous albums.
In "Minutes to Midnight" (released in 2007) they expreminted with their established music quiet alot by having only 2 songs has rapping and the rest of the songs are Alternative Rock. Through this album they finished their status which they had among mature rock music followers which were poster boys and only famous among teenagers. This album shows a much mature image of Linkin Park and why not they were growing as musicians. However Chester's vocals were not so amazing and again Mike Shinoda doing his job thats what I think :P. My rating is 7/10.
Upcoming Album : "A thousand Suns" the most intelligent and majestic album of Linkin Park’s career. It's a prove to the band’s ability to go beyond the boundaries set for them by critics and fans.
One of the important things to look forward is see the return of Mike Shinoda’s rap vocals an element which was missed in "Minutes to Midnight" :-)
